MANILA, Philippines – It was a double whammy for Suits fans in 2018 – the legal drama series didn’t just announce lead star Mike Ross’ (Patrick J. Adams) departure for season 8, but also that the upcoming 9th season would be the show’s last.
However, fans will be happy to know that Patrick J. Adams will be suiting up yet again for Suits’ final season, according to a Variety report on Monday, June 3.
The report said that Mike Ross will reprise his role mid-season in episode 5 to help in a case that puts him “toe to toe” with former law mentor Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl).
“I couldn’t be happier to be part of the final chapter of Suits,” Adams said in an interview with Deadline.
“I’ve missed my TV family, and am looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble Mike Ross can stir up at the firm one last time,” he added.
The last fans saw of Mike Ross was at the end of season 7 as he left Specter’s law firm in New York to move to Seattle with wife Rachel (Megan Markle).
The upcoming last season of Suits will consist of 10 episodes and will premiere in the US on July 17.
Created by Aaron Korsh, the acclaimed legal dramedy series began airing in 2011. A spin-off series entitled Pearson, led by Gina Torres who plays Jessica Pearson on the show, will also premiere on July 17. – Rappler.com
