Rica Peralejo welcomes second son
The former actress delivers her second child at home

MANILA, Philippines — Rica Peralejo welcomed her second child, a boy, via homebirth on Sunday, June 9.

In photos posted on her Instagram, the former actress shared the first look of her second son, Manu, with husband, Pastor Joseph Bonifacio.

Their first son, Philip, is now 5 years old.

“And so after 25 hours, this boy is finally out. I cannot wait to tell you all our birth story. Let me just say that it was a miracle to actually do homebirth, vbac (vaginal birth after caesarian), and to remain completely unmedicated all throughout the labor. So many times I wanted to quit… but somehow strength came to my bones and body. Oh I really cannot wait to share it all with you.”
.
“To all who have been praying with us since We began this journey, I thank you. From a fearful time to a victorious birth, can you imagine??? In those 25 hours his heart rate stayed completely perfect. Never went down. God protected my child through and through. He created AND sustained him. And i believe this is His promise to this child for all the rest of his life.”

In her second post, Rica, now a vlogger,  said she could not help but feel emotional after Manu’s birth.

“How can I not shed tears if it had to take five years, 38 weeks of praying God will sustain him, 25 hours of labor before I can finally have this boy? His papa, kuya, and I, have longed for him deeply.”

“I cannot wait to share more photos. Not only of ourselves but the birthing team we carefully chose, and who carried us through the different turns of this birth. Truly, if we want something supernatural, we must understand that it cannot be done alone.”

Joseph also shared some photos as they welcome their son.

Last January, Rica confirmed that she and Joseph were expecting their second child.

In a video, Rica also talked about going through two miscarriages, and having to take medicines to be sure that her pregnancy was going to be okay after discovering she had APAs, an autoimmune disorder that occurs during pregnancy. — Rappler.com
