A first: Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez team up for new film
'It’s a story about two people who are more than friends but less than lovers'

MANILA, Philippines – Another GMA and ABS-CBN crossover is in the works, with ABS-CBN star Paulo Avelino and GMA’s Janine Guitterez pairing up for the first time to star in a new film entitled If We Don’t Make It.

“We’re super excited for this awesome crossover,” T-REX Entertainment announced on Facebook on Tuesday, July 9.

“It’s a story about two people who are more than friends but less than lovers. Coming soon!”

During Tuesday’s story conference, it was revealed that in the movie, Janine plays A.M., a goal-getting music producer, while Paulo plays Harold, a college friend from the province who is her exact opposite. Through music, they connect with one another.

In a separate Facebook post, T-Rex also introduced the film’s director, Prime Cruz, and writer Jen Chuansu. The two have previously worked together on films Sleepless, Patay Na Si Hesus, and Billie & Emma.

No production timeline and premiere date have been announced yet.

The team-up of Paulo and Janine briefly follows a recent trend of stars from the country’s rival entertainment giants teaming up for movies. The new pairings include Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo for the upcoming Hello, Love, Goodbye and Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino for a Black Sheep movie. – Rappler.com
