MANILA, Philippines – “We liked to march to our own beat.”
Lawyer Jose “Judd” Roy III pays tribute to his late cousin, rock star Karl Roy. Karl passed away on Tuesday, March 13. He was hospitalized over the weekend and was admitted to the intensive care unit. The musician was recovering from a stroke in past years.
In an interview on the sidelines of the impeachment trial, Judd Roy shares memories of Karl, who became one of his close friends and first clients. (Watch the interview above.)
Roy tells reporters Karl had “a very special gift.” Roy says he and Karl had many things in common.
“We were both never approval-seekers, Karl and I. We liked to march to our own beat …. I’m sure his music will live on.”
