MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Liza Soberano is postponing the launch of her YouTube channel “Life with Liza,” following the rejection of ABS-CBN’s franchise application on Friday, July 10.
On her Instagram stories on Saturday, July 11 – the same day the channel was set to premiere – Liza said she decided to postpone the launch “in light of what happened to ABS-CBN yesterday.”
“I would like to take the time to grieve with my fellow kapamilya and reflect on the recent happenings,” she said, thanking her fans for their patience.
Liza, one of the network’s biggest talents, has vocally supported ABS-CBN throughout the hearings for its franchise renewal. “To all the employees who are greatly affected by this. I’m sorry. I’m sorry they aren’t sorry,” she tweeted, shortly after the news on the franchise broke.
Liza first announced that she was launching her own YouTube channel on July 9, posting a teaser on Instagram.
“A little surprise for all of you. This Saturday. 6pm!” she said.
As of writing, the channel already has over 25,000 subcribers. Prior to launching her own YouTube channel, Liza made appearances on boyfriend, actor Enrique’s Gil’s vlogs.
Liza is the latest celebrity to join YouTube. Among those who launched their own channels this year include Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Barretto.– Rappler.com
