MANILA, Philippines – Singer-songwriter and rapper Jay Sean is set to perform in the 16th Nestea Beach Victory party on April 20 in Club Paraw, Boracay.
After the success of his 2009 album “All or Nothing” with hit ditties “Down,” “Do You Remember,” and “2012,” Jay Sean is back with his latest project, “Neon.”
“I didn’t want to think small for this album,” he said in a press release from Nestea. “I never wanted to confine myself to 4 walls. Going beyond the clubs and parties, I wanted to make music for festivals, stadiums, and huge gatherings of people going absolutely wild. That’s one feeling I wanted to create on Neon.”
In the album, the singer mellows down and bares his soulful side, shifting from pop and up-tempo songs to emotional, melancholy pieces.
He explained, “I focused on showcasing my vocal ability. On slow jams, you emote differently, and you get the chance to sing from your heart.”
Jay Sean considered this a way of letting people know who he is as a singer, a songwriter, an artist, and as a person.
“I’ve learned a lot over the past 10 years,” he said. “I’ve progressed and matured so much. This is who I am now. I want people to take this home and say, ‘I know this guy’.”

On April 20, Jay Sean will be joined by female DJ trio the Zombettes and DJ’s Callum David, Mars Miranda, Funk Avy, and Martin Pulgar.
This is his second time in the country; in September 2010, he had a one-night-only show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. – Rappler.com
