MANILA, Philippines – The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) said Monday, April 22, it has placed TV5 noontime variety show “Wowowillie” under a 3-month probation and attached a Strong Parental Guidance (SPG) rating to it. The order takes effect immediately.

A probation means that each episode of the show will now be reviewed by the MTRCB, according to a report by the Inquirer.

‘”Wowowillie’ producers said they accept the decision and the conditions set by the censors board.

Tweets from the MTRCB account read:

Producers of the show met with MTRCB officials Monday due to its April 16 episode which showed dancers in revealing outfits. Reports say MTRCB found fault in the “very skimpy outfits of its female dancers,” particularly the exposure of a “well-endowed” dancer’s cleavage. The show’s business unit head, Jay Montelibano, said he acted on the issue before the meeting, adding they had remedied the problem.

“We already took the necessary actions. We altered the dancers’ costumes and reminded the cameraman to be extra cautious [with the] shots,” he explained.

A month ago, producers were also summoned by the MTRCB due to host Willie Revillame’s insensitivity toward co-hosts Ethel Booba and Ate Gay in its February 28 episode, when he publicly reprimanded the two. Ethel Booba left the show, while Willie and his staff were prompted to attend a gender sensitivity seminar.
