MANILA, Philippines – Music legends Elton John and Madonna have kissed and made up, Huffington Post reported.

In an interview with Extra’s Terri Seymour, John and his husband David Furnish narrated how the decade-long feud was settled in a restaurant in France.

“She came in, and I sent over a note. She was very gracious. I apologized profusely because what I said should never have appeared in public. She accepted our apology, and then we bought her dinner. That’s over and done with. She was really great about it,” said John.

“We don’t believe in putting negativity out in the world, both of us were embarrassed when all that stuff came out. But you’ve got to put all that behind you and just go forward with the positivity,” continued Furnish.

John said the Queen of Pop was “fantastic.”

“She was just, ‘Okay, let’s get a move on,'” he said. “I was very relieved, because she had every right to say ‘I don’t want to talk…’ I said, listen — you have an option of not talking to me again and I completely understand it, and she said ‘No, no. I accept your apology. Let’s move on.'”

Putting the past behind

Beef between the music superstars started in 2002 when John branded Madonna’s 007 song “Die Another Day” as “the worst Bond tune ever.” Then in 2004, John accused her of lip-syncing during her Re-Invention Tour and her Super Bowl performance.

The conflict escalated in 2012 when Furnish also made snide remarks about Madonna right after she beat John in the Best Original Song category of the Golden Globes that year.

“I like Madonna’s music, but not her movies. She should stick to what she is good at,” Furnish said.

In the same year, John uttered disdainful statements such as “her career is over,” “she’s such a nightmare,” and “she looks like a f**king fairground stripper.”

However hints the two were about to reconcile were spotted last year. Madonna dedicated a performance of her song “Masterpiece” to John. John called Madonna a trail-blazer in one interview.
