MANILA, Philippines – The “American Idol” season 12 top 3 results show aired May 9 (May 10 MNL) ended with Angie Miller’s elimination.

The suspense-filled episode was capped off by Miller’s tearful rendition of Colton Dixon’s “Never Gone” as her final number on the “Idol” stage, which earned a standing ovation from her equally emotional supporters.

Miller’s elimination leaves only Candice Glover and Kree Harrison vying for the 12th American Idol title.

Other performances of the night included season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina’s “Barefoot and Buckwild” and Alicia Keys’ “Tears Always Win.”

The episode also debuted judge Mariah Carey’s new single with R&B singer Miguel, “Beautiful.”

On the same day, long-time judge Randy Jackson announced his resignation from the show to focus on his personal endeavors.
