Who are the celebrity candidates leading the poll results so far?

MANILA, Philippines – Three hours after the closing of poll centers, Rappler’s live poll results reveal that some celebrity candidates are already leading their races, while others are lagging behind their opponents.

As of 10:18 p.m., former president and action star Joseph “Erap” Estrada leads against incumbent Manila mayor Alfredo Lim in his bid for mayoralty of the capital city. Erap has 235,672 votes to Lim’s 213,445.

In Camarines Sur, congressional bet Aga Muhlach of the Liberal Party takes the lead against his only opponent, Wimpy Fuentebella of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC). The fight is a close one with Muhlach garnering 24,530 votes compared to Fuentebella’s 21,413.

Lucy Torres-Gomez, vying to be congressman of the 4th district of Leyte, is leading with 58,170 votes to Eric Codilla’s 42,899 votes.

Superstar Batangas gubernatorial candidate Vilma Santos-Recto is overtaking her two opponents with 545,825 votes votes. Marcos Mandanas Sr., the candidate closest to her in the race, has so far only garnered 34,982 votes.

In Quezon City, Herbert “Bistek” Bautista is outstripping his two rivals for mayoralty. He has 390,066 while his closest opponent, Johnny Chang, only has 38,833 votes so far.

ER Ejercito, running for Laguna governor, is leading with 327,319 votes to opponent Edgar San Luis who has 286,520 votes.

Losing candidates

Actor Richard Gomez is falling behind independent candidate Edward Codilla in the mayorial race in Ormoc, Leyte. Christopher de Leon is also the candidate with the least number of votes among congressional candidates for the 2nd district of Batangas.

Meanwhile, Annabelle Rama — running for Cebu congressman under United Nationalist Alliance — is lagging behind the Liberal Party’s Raul del Mar. – With reports from Jodesz Gavilan/
