Jessica Simpson gives birth to baby boy

MANILA, Philippines – Pop singer Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson welcomed their second child on Sunday, June 30 (July 1 Manila time) reports US Weekly.

The baby boy, born via C-section in Los Angeles, was named Ace Knute Johnson, after Eric’s Swedish father, Knute Johnson.

The couple’s first child is daughter Maxwell Drew, who was born May 2012 and is now 14 months old. Simpson recently tweeted an adorable picture of her daughter, which has earned over 100 retweets and 500 favorites.

Simpson and the former NFL player announced their engagement in 2010 after 6 months of dating, but pushed their wedding aside to give way to Jessica’s back-to-back pregnancies. 

After struggling with losing weight from her first pregnancy, Simpson became a Weight Watchers ambassador. The singer, who also starred in the 2005 film “The Dukes of Hazzard,” has also built a career around fashion. In 2006, she established “Jessica Simpson,” a clothing line for women. She is currently a celebrity mentor alongside Nicole Richie in the NBC reality show “Fashion Star.” 

Simpson was first married to 98 Degrees’ Nick Lachey. They divorced in 2006. Lachey is now married to half-Filipino Vanessa Minnillo with whom he has a 10-month-old son, Camden John.
