Avril Lavigne weds in black Monique Lhuillier
MANILA, Philippines - In true rock n' roll fashion, pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne walked down the aisle donning a black tulle creation by Filipina designer Monique Lhuillier, reports Hello! Magazine.
Lavigne, famous for her edgy pop-rock, married Nickelback vocalist Chad Kroeger, in a secret ceremony on June 1. True to the goth theme, the celebration took place in Chateau de la Napoule, a medieval castle near Cannes, France.
The theme was conceptualized by Lavigne herself, who said she had intended to go "over the top" for her second wedding.
A boquet of black roses in hand, Lavigne paired her Monique Lhuillier ensemble with a tiara-like headpiece.
Daily Mail reports the bride wore a traditional white gown during a pre-wedding party.
The two Canadian rockers fell in love while working on Lavigne's latest album. In August 2012, after a month of dating, Kroeger proposed while the pair was vacationing in Paris.
Lavigne, now 28, was 21 when she married her first husband, Deryck Whibley of the band Sum 41. She was then dressed in a white Vera Wang gown.
