‘My Husband’s Lover: The Concert’ coming soon

MANILA, Philippines – Tom Rodriguez, Kapuso Network’s lead actor in “My Husband’s Lover,” is now officially part of GMA-7’s roster of stars, after he signed an exclusive contract on Thursday, September 5.

The actor, who started his showbiz career in 2009, via the ABS-CBN local franchise of the reality-competition show “Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up,” shot to fame through his role as the conflicted husband in the popular GMA serye.

Tom was in high spirits and thankful to be part of the Kapuso family. He is now one of the most in-demand actors in the industry.

“Ang sarap ng feeling [It’s a great feeling] that they have gambled on putting me in ‘My Husband’s Lover,’ even as a newcomer,” he said.

Between tapings of “My Husband Lover,” Tom is also recording an album with Dennis Trillo under GMA Records, titled, “TomDen,” a compilation of love songs interpreted by the two Kapuso leading men.

And according to Tom, the network is endeavoring a new, big project this October, for all the loyal fans of “My Husband’s Lover.”

That project which the whole cast is preparing for is “My Husband’s Lover: The Concert,” to be held at SMART Araneta.

“The concert will be for the people who supported our show,” said Tom.

“Yung mga TomDen fans, para sa inyo ito. Para ito sa mga Kapuso natin [this is for you and for our Kapuso].”

“Also joining me and Dennis are the rest of the cast like Carla Abellana, Bettina Carlos, Pancho Magno, Kevin Santos, Glydel Mercado, Karel Marquez, Victor Basa, Roi Vinzon, and Ms. Kuh Ledesma.”

During the contract signing, GMA Network President and COO Gilberto Duavit Jr. said the network is preparing Tom’s upcoming projects after “My Husband’s Lover.”

For her part, GMA Entertainment TV’s OIC Lilybeth G. Rasonable said, “Tuloy tuloy ang mga dramas niya. Nakikita natin kung gaano siya kagaling.”

Good projects

Tom’s manager, Popoy Caritativo, expressed confidence that GMA will continue to give Tom good projects, now that he is officially a part of the Kapuso family.

“I am very happy and we are looking forward to a lot of good projects, a great relationship between GMA and Tom and myself. We feel very blessed and thankful,” Caritativo said.
