MANILA, Philippines – Britney’s going to conquer Las Vegas.

Pop superstar Britney Spears will headline her own Las Vegas show starting December, following in the footsteps of stars such as Celine Dion and Elton John.

Spears announced Tuesday, September 17, that she signed a two-year deal to perform in her own show at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood.

The Vegas residency announcement was made on the US morning show “Good Morning America.”

“Britney: Piece of Me” will be a “celebration of one of the most illustrious careers in music history,” Planet Hollywood said in its website.

The deal involves Spears performing 50 shows at the venue over the 2-year period, but she told ABC News that she hasn’t decided yet if she will move to Vegas full time.

The show will feature “20 worldwide smashes” from the star’s catalogue.

“This epic Las Vegas show is a marriage of high-end fashion, state of the art technology and slick nightclub panache,” Planet Hollywood added.

“We wanted the environment to be that way so people could come and have a good time and stand up and feel like they’re in the show with me,” Spears told Good Morning America.

Spears’ latest album will be released December 3, she added. She has just released her latest single, “Work Bitch.”

This comes after her stint as a judge on the US version of talent show “The X Factor.”

Spears, 31, shot to global superstardom at 15 years of age, with the launch of her first album “…Baby, One More Time” in 1999.

Some of her hits include “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” and “Womanizer,” in a career spanning 15 years.

Despite her chart-topping success, she has encountered major personal struggles, including a meltdown in 2007.

She has two kids from her marriage to Kevin Federline, which ended in divorce back in 2007. – Rappler.com
