MANILA, Philippines – April 24, Tuesday, is your last chance to catch multi-awarded film “Busong” at the Shang Cineplex, Shangri-La Plaza.

Always in support of globally recognized, award-winning films of remarkable cultural and artistic value, Shangri-La Plaza began the exclusive screening last April 18.

INSPIRED BY MOM. Solito's movie was inspired by his mother's stories on Puring, Southern Palawan.

Busong is directed by Auraeus Solito. The film was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival and has been nominated and won prestigious awards in various film festivals including the Brussels International Independent Film Festival, the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, the Philippines Golden Screen Awards, and the Star Awards for Movies. 

PHILIPPINE BEAUTY. The beauty of the Palawan environment is also showcased in "Busong."

Solito, who is known for his multi-award winning film Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros, reveals that Busong was inspired by the stories his mother used to tell him. “She told me stories of a world nobody knew of, that was magical and pure. It was about her hometown of Puring at the end of Southern Palawan,” Solito shares.

The first of the indie filmmaker’s Palawan trilogy, the film stars Alessandra de Rossi, who has won acting awards for her outstanding performances in independent and mainstream films.
