Adam Levine People's 'Sexiest Man Alive'
MANILA, Philippines – Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine is People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2013.
The musician and coach for reality singing competition "The Voice" told People that he was "amazed and stunned" at the announcement, at first thinking it was a joke.
"As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn't really think that this was on the table. I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren't, so that's cool," he said.
Maroon 5 celebrated the award with a tweet late Tuesday.
This year, People's Sexiest Men list also includes Idris Elba, Luke Bryan, Jimmy Fallon, Bruno Mars, Jonathan and Drew Scott, Justin Timberlake, Chris Pine, Pharrell Williams, Ronan Farrow, Justin Theroux, and David Beckham.
In the feature, Levine talked about his upcoming marriage to fiancée Victoria's Secret Model Behati Prinsloo, saying he dismissed the thought of marriage until he discovered for himself that he was ready to settle down.
"I didn't think marriage was for me for a long time. I was ready when I was ready. That's about as simple as it could possibly be," he told People.
The 34-year-old also credited yoga and spinning for his well-toned body, which he isn't shy to show off to the public. He told People that "he loves to be naked."
In 2011, the musician posed nude in Cosmopolitan UK to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. The shoot had Levine in his birthday suit with nothing but his former girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna's hands as covering.
Levine's most recent publicity comes at an auspicious time in the career of the busy singer, who has been branching out into the world of acting.
Levine made an appearance in the 2013 film "Can A Song Save Your Life?" with Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.
In addition, the musician recently started a men's fragrance line and ventured into the fashion world with his own line of clothing for the Kmart department store chain. –With reports from Agence France-Presse/Rappler.com
