Tina Fey, Amy Poehler to host 2014 Golden Globes

MANILA, Philippines — Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are gearing up to host the 2014 Golden Globes for the 2nd time on January 12, 2014.

Last year, the Saturday Night Live alumna had such a great time together, and if the released promos are any indication, this year is sure to be a ball as well.

“Last year was really fun, we didn’t know what to expect… and it was a really strange experience,” Amy remarked in a video clip posted on the Golden Globes site. “So we said, well maybe we can try it again, and like fools, we’re gonna try it again, to give it another shot.”

It’s definitely a challenge for these real-life best friends: last year, they had a whole slew of memorable, hilarious lines that left everyone in stitches. Some were laugh-your-pants-off funny (like when they posed as “nominees” for a fake movie called Dog President) and some were controversial (when they told Taylor Swift: “you stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son!”, Taylor didn’t like that comment too much). 

Apparently, they did such a good job of it that they’d be hosting the Golden Globes not just this year, but next year as well. And maybe aside from Ms. Swift, everyone seems ecstatic about the redux.

Amy: “You can smell the pills from here.” 

Amy: ”As Ricky Gervais found out the hard way, when you run afoul of the Hollywood Foreign Press, they make you host this show two more times.” – on the previous Golden Globes host

Amy: ”When it comes to torture, I trust the lady who was married for three years to James Cameron.” – on Katherine Bigelow, who was nominated as Best Director for Zero Dark Thirty

Tina: ”The Hunger Games was one of the biggest films of the year, and also what I call the six weeks it took me to get into this dress.”

Amy: “Everyone’s getting loose now that we’re all losers.” (While pretending to be drunk)

Tina: “Anne Hathaway, you gave a stunning performance in Les Miserables. I have not seen someone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars.”

Both: ”Goodnight, everybody! We’re going home with Jodie Foster!” (After Jodie’s acceptance-cum-coming out speech)
