Kris Aquino on sex and success

MANILA, Philippines – Actress and TV host Kris Aquino’s highly publicized life has faced turmoil in the recent years, but she’s poised for a happy and prosperous 2014.

What’s the secret to her recent good fortune? According to a report by ABS-CBN, Aquino believes her decision to stay celibate plays a role. 

“I know my priorities, siguro kaya na-bi-blessed (maybe that’s why I am blessed), because I don’t have sex,” she said laughingly in an episode of her morning talk show Kris TV.

Aquino said she has learned to find fulfillment not in herself, but in seeing other people love her children, particularly her youngest, Bimby Yap, whose first movie My Little Bossings reaped millions in the box office.

Her two sons, Bimby and Josh, are most important to her, she said.

“Alam ko kung ano ang priorities in life ko and siguro talaga kung ano ang pinakamahalaga sa iyo, ‘yun ang ipagkakaloob sa iyo ng Diyos, at ang pinakamahalaga sa akin ay ‘yung dalawang anak ko.” (I know my priorities and maybe the most important thing in your life is what God blesses you with, and for me, it’s my two children.)

About a year ago, Aquino’s devotion to her sons was made clear to the public, after she announced her retirement from showbiz to focus on motherhood. But ABS-CBN was quick to respond, saying Aquino was set to continue with her committments.

Still a Kapamilya

Aquino has been in the limelight since childhood – then, as the daughter of political icons, now, as the President’s sister and, of course, as a popular all-around media personality. 

A week ago, Aquino made headlines due to her rumored network transfer, which the actress denied through a post on Instagram. She explained that she and the company have worked out “a deal where [they] are all winners.”

True enough, in a new development, ABS-CBN reported that the actress renewed her contract with the network on Tuesday, January 14.

Aquino, who has been a Kapamilya for 19 years, said rules are stricter this time around.

“Kapag pasaway ka, maraming bawas, kaya kailangan behaved,” she told the press. (If you’re disobedient, there are big deductions, so there’s a need to be behaved.)

Aquino said that had she not renewed her contract, she might have considered setting up her own production company or explored a field other than entertainment. – Rappler.com
