MANILA, Philippines – The 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, held just a few hours after the nominations of the another big show, the Academy Awards, is part of the slew of major ceremonies that make up awards season.

Members of the Broadcast Film Critics Association vote for their picks in the different categories.

While this year’s usual suspects, American Hustle, 12 Years A Slave, Captain Phillips, Dallas Buyers Club, Gravity, and Her are all honored, there are more categories – including acting awards in the comedy and action films. There’s also a special category for young actors, the best ensemble cast, and even the best sci-fi/horror film.
