MANY HAPPY RETURNS. Could 'Sherlock' return by Christmas? Screen grab from 'Sherlock' Facebook page

MANILA, Philippines – Although no air date has been officially confirmed, at a BAFTA screening of the Sherlock season 3 finale, producer Sue Vertue assured attendees that they were “working on it.” Co-creator Steven Moffat also reportedly said, “We’ll get them made as quickly as we can.”

“Sherlock started very well, the second series did better than the first and now the third is doing better than the second … It shows the benefits of starvation – put things on less often!” co-creator Steven Moffat said at the screening.

The Daily Mail has also reported the possibility of a Christmas 2014 air date for Season 4, saying that a BBC source told another publication The Sun that the network ‘wants its biggest guns ready.’

Ever since the season 3 finale aired on January 12 in the UK, fans have been wondering when they’ll again see their favorite detective on screen for the 4th season. In a Q&A with fans, co-creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss said,  “Everyone is very keen to do more, but we have accidentally cast the 2 most successful actors in the world & schedules are tight.”

The creators are gearing up to get the show going as they recently revealed that they have started planning seasons 4 and 5.

In December 2013, a Sherlock mini-episode was released, which served as a prequel to the 3rd season.
