Ramon Tulfo and Raymart Santiago engage in a brawl in NAIA

MANILA, Philippines – It started as a consumer complaint. It ended as a bloody fist fight.

A few hours after a boxing match between global icons Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, 3 well-known personalities in the Philippine news and entertainment industry engaged in an almost similar bout at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 (NAIA-3) in Pasay City.

According to reports, actress Claudine Barretto was scolding and cursing a Cebu Pacific Air ground stewardess over some missing baggage from their Boracay-Manila flight, when her husband, actor Raymart Santiago, noticed that columnist Ramon Tulfo was taking footage of the exchange using his cellphone.

Santiago reportedly went over to Tulfo, who also just arrived from Davao and waiting at the baggage carousel. However, the two men ended up in a scuffle. Tulfo reportedly punched Santiago first

Tulfo eventually explained that he simply fought back since the Santiago-Barretto couple and their companions were ganging up on him and he felt outnumbered.

The celebrity couple says Tulfo threatened them and said they have no idea who they are up against.

When the dust settled, Barretto had several bruises on her leg (from Tulfo’s kicks) and each camp threatened the other of legal moves.

A video by Marlon Atengco, a Customs employee who was on the scene, was posted on his Facebook page and on YouTube:
