Vhong Navarro is discharged from the hospital, two weeks after he was severely beaten following an incident involving Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Vhong Navarro was discharged from St. Luke’s Medical Center on Feburary 6, around two weeks after he sustained severe injuries due to an alleged mauling incident on January 22, reported ANC.

According to ANC, Navarro headed straight to the Department of Justice to swear on the veracity of his statement regarding the incident.

Earlier reports said Navarro sustained broken bones and a broken nose due to the incident.

Model Deniece Cornejo, along with businessman Cedric Lee, claimed Navarro attempted to rape Cornejo in her condominium at The Fort on the night of the incident. A police blotter was filed on the evening of January 22, narrating how Navarro sustained his injuries after Lee and company discovered him attempting to rape Cornejo.

In an interview with Buzz ng Bayan on January 26, the actor denied the alleged attempted rape and claimed he was a victim of extorion and was beat up and threatened by 6 men in the Forbeswood Heights condominium of model Deniece Cornejo.

The case has been forwarded to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), which filed a complaint against Cornejo, Lee, and 6 other individuals for serious illegal detention, serious physical injuries, grave threats, grave coercion, unlawful arrest, and threatening to publish and offer to prevent such publication for a compensation.

Meanwhile, Cornejo filed a rape case against Navarro on January 29 to the Taguig Prosecutor’s Office, which shall be heard by the pannel of investigators formed by the Department of Justice.  – Rappler.com
