MANILA, Philippines – “Overflowing with happiness.”

This was what former beauty queen Liza Diño tweeted after she got engaged to singer and former child star Aiza Seguerra.

A friend of the couple who goes by the Instagram username @iamtonico posted photos and a video of the February 7 proposal at Teatro Hermogenes Ylagan, University of the Philippines-Diliman, during the staging of George De Jesus’ Kung Paano Maghihiwalay, a Carlos Palanca award winning screenplay.

Diño has since tweeted her thanks to the people who supported her relationship with Seguerra, saying she’s “overflowing with happiness.”

Another photo posted on @iamtonico’s instagram account showed the family members of Diño and Seguerra with the caption: “Dito ako naiyak when I saw your parents na proud & happy for both of you… Ano pa ba ang mahihiling mo di ba? Love you.” (I cried when I saw your parents looking proud and happy for both of you. What more can you ask for? Love you.)

He also posted a video of the actual proposal where a very emotional Diño was seen tearing up and even jokingly hitting Seguerra. Diño eventually said yes and hugged Seguerra. 

Diño and Seguerra admitted to being a couple in September last year during Seguerra’s concert with singer Charice Pempengco called “Power of Two.” (READ: Liza Diño on Aiza: ‘Yes, kami na’)

Diño is a former beauty queen who represented the Philippines in the Miss Tourism International pageant in 2001. Also an award-winning actress for her performance in “In Nomine Matris,” she has been separated from her husband of 5 years.

Seguerra is a famous singer in the Philippines who began as a child star in Eat Bulaga, a long-running noon time show in the Philippines.  – Rappler.com
