MANILA, Philippines – What do celebrities Kris Aquino, Heart Evangelista, and John Prats have in common? They were all born on the day of hearts.

With Valentine’s day being a double celebration for these stars, what are they planning on the extra special day? But birthday or not, how do other showbiz couples spend their Valentine’s?

Kris Aquino’s Valentine Kiss

 

Kris is no stranger to heartache, but now, on the month of her 43rd birthday, however, Aquino has found a reason to pucker up and show her best smile.

This month, Aquino celebrates the launch of her first signature lipstick under local make-up brand Happy Skin, called Shut Up and Kiss Me Valentine Kiss.

“Inspired by her favorite pink color and wanting all women to be happily in love, Kris Aquino asked Happy Skin to create a love-luring shade in a passionate pink,” read the description on the Happy Skin site.

Heart’s day in Hong Kong 

“A lot of people think that I was born in February, my name is Heart, it’s a curse ’cause it seems like I’m always in love,” said Heart Evangelista in April. 

But she was quick to add, “People say that I have a ‘You and I against the world’ syndrome. But no. Unfortunately, love is not the only thing that makes my world go round.” 

Love may not be the sole mover in Evangelista’s life, but it certainly has placed her on the headlines.

Evangelista’s dating history has constantly been the talk of the town, from her teenage romance with John Prats (also born on February 14), to her current and most controversial relationship with Senator Chiz Escudero.

Despite her parent’s publicized disapproval, Evangelista has made clear that her current relationship is here to stay. “We’re never going to separate, FYI. It’s just not going to happen,” she said in an interview with GMA 7 talk show Startalk on February 9.

In several interviews, the couple also previously hinted at plans to get married in the near future.

For Valentine’s, the couple revealed plans of going out of the country with friends, much like how Evangelista celebrated in previous years. The trip to Hong Kong, Evangelista told Startalk, is also Escudero’s birthday gift to her.

Wedding bells for John Prats and Isabel Oli?

Following the wedding of celebrities Drew Arellano and Iya Villania, as well as the engagement of couples Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño, and Yael Yuzon and Karylle – will John Prats be the next celebrity to pop the question?

In a recent interview with ABS-CBN talk show TNT: Tapatan ni Tunying, Prats revealed he is ready to marry his girlfriend Isabel Oli. 

Oli revealed in past interviews that she, too, is ready to walk down the aisle.

The public has yet to see what plans they have cooked up for Valentine’s Day and Prats’ 30th birthday, but the previous year, the couple celebrated with lechon (roasted pig), a gift from Cebuana Oli and especially flown from Cebu to Manila.

Around the same time last year, Prats also celebrated his 20th year in showbiz with a charity golf tournament for the benefit of the rehabilitation of the Holy Trinity Parish in Cainta, Rizal, as well as home for the aged Kanlungan ni Maria, reported The Philippine Star.

Jericho Rosales’ chocolate surprise 

Actor Jericho Rosales revealed in a press conference for a movie, that he and his fiancée model Kim Jones both have commitments with work on their last Valentine’s day before becoming husband and wife.

But Rosales didn’t seem to be bothered by the idea. He later on revealed that he and Jones will be working together on that day, in partnership with a Toblerone chocolates.

“Meron kaming i-de-dare namin ‘yung mga tao na gumawa ng kakaiba for Valentine’s day, team-up with Toblerone,” he said. (We will dare people to do unique things for Valentine’s day, a team-up with Toblerone)

The actor, however, added that he is still working on a surprise for Jones, whom he is set to marry in 3 months.

“For me, extra birthday ng mga kababaihan ‘yon (Valentine’s Day) so I have to come up with something specal,” he said. (For me, Valentine’s Day is an extra birthday for women, so I have to come up with something special.)

Billy Crawford’s special Valentine

“Special ‘to, kaya nga nanliligaw eh,” said actor and singer Billy Crawford to the delight of his co-hosts on ABS-CBN noontime show Showtime. (She is special, that’s why I am courting her.)

“First time ko manligaw sa Valentine’s ah,” he added, referring to co-host model Coleen Garcia, whom he is currently being linked to. (It’s my first time to court someone on Valentine’s.)

Although Crawford did not elaborate on his plans, Garcia said she is sure she wil be happy on Valentine’s Day.

“Oo naman,” (Of course), she answered when asked by comedian Vice Ganda.

Anne Curtis’ delicious Valentine’s

“I think I have the best boyfriend na knows how to cook,” she said, speaking to Push about her boyfriend chef and food blogger Erwan Heussaff. 

Speaking to Rappler, Heussaff revealed he started cooking his own meals at age 8, also preparing special dishes for holidays and special occasions. Heussaff is currently part-owner of 4 restaurants, including Hatch 22.

This year, Curtis told Push that their plans will most probably involve a celebration with their close friends. “I think this year we’ll be doing a group Valentine’s date,” she said.

Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s V-Day holiday

In a recent interview with Pep.ph, actor Dingdong Dantes said he doesn’t believe in giving gifts during Valentine’s.

“No, I don’t believe in mga gifts pagdating sa Valentine’s. Basta magkasama lang kayo, malaking bagay na (as long as you’re together, it’s a big thing already),” he said, adding that he sees the occasion as a holiday he and his girlfriend actress Marian Rivera can also spend with their friends.

“It’s good naman na we can value these dates, kasi kailangan din mag-celebrate at kahit paano, hindi naman puro trabaho lang.” (It’s good that we can value these dates because we also need to celebrate, not just all work.)

He revealed that this year, they are planning to go on an out of town trip.

When asked about how he has made their Valentine’s special for the past 5 or so years, Dantes said it comes naturally. 

“Hindi naman, hindi naman sa pinaplano. Natural lang siyang dumarating… Again, hindi naman kailangang magarbo, e. ‘Yung quality, kumbaga, medyo unique ‘yung dating.” (It’s not really planned.
