MANILA, Philippines  Actress Heart Evangelista is set to have her first painting exhibit at Artist Space, Ayala Museum on May 8 to 21.

Evangelista announced the news through her Instagram account, where photos and previews of her paintings may also be seen.

In an interview with GMA 7 afternoon news show Balitanghali, the actress shared how she considers painting “therapeutic,” which helps her release tension in times of sadness. She also said that she uses her craft, which she’s developed since childhood, to express extreme happiness.

“It’s something that balances me as a person so kaya ako paint nang paint (that’s why I paint a lot).”

Heart also told Balitanghali that her original works, which showcase bright colors in unique patterns, represent her personality.

The actress said she considers having an exhibit as “an achievement, something very different from what I’m doing now.”

The upcoming exhibit will be Evangelista’s first, and it seems the actress is already planning for another opportunity to showcase her talent. She recently posted a photo of a new painting, announcing that the artwork is for a “separate exhibit.”

Heart Evangelista is not the first celebrity to have works exhibited at the Ayala Museum. in 2009, actor Cesar Montano also held “MONTANO The First Impression,” a painting exhibit of his works featuring “rural day-to-day realities of the actor’s beloved home province of Bohol.” – Rappler.com
