Saab Magalona engaged to boyfriend Jim Bacarro

MANILA, Philippines – Another celebrity is set to walk down the aisle.

Model, actress, and blogger Saab Magalona is now engaged to her boyfriend, musician Jim Bacarro.

On March 29, the daughter of late OPM rapper Francis Magalona announced the news through a photo on Instagram, where she described her surprised reaction. She labeled her expression on the photo as her “‘ha?’ face,” noting that she thought they were merely taking photos when her boyfriend popped the question.

She went on to thank her groom-to-be for proposing in her “dream destination,” Japan, where Saab and her family, including celebrities Maxene Magalona and Elmo Magalona, are currently vacationing.

According to the post, the Magalona family witnessed the proposal and documented the event.

Saab’s older sister, model and actress Maxene, posted a photo of the proposal captioned with words of congratulations.

“She said yes! Congratulations, Saab and Jim! You guys were made for each other,” read the Instagram post.

In an interview with Pep.ph in 2012, Saab revealed that she and Jim had been dating since 2011.

Saab and Jim are currently both members of indie rock band Cheats. According to the band’s Facebook page, they’re currently recording their first album, with musician Ely Buendia as a producer.

Saab is well known for her role in 2008 TV 5 television series Lipgloss. She then went on to play roles in several other teleseryes like Captain Barbell, My Beloved, and Adarna. Aside from making a name as a blogger, the actress also hosted a bi-monthly online webcast called Saabmarine Teleradyo in 2010.

Since the beginning of 2014, several showbiz personalities have announced their wedding plans. Singers Karylle and Yael Yuzon as well as actors Drew Arellano and Iya Villania recently tied the knot, while actress Bianca Gonzalez,  rocker Yeng Constantino and actress-singer Aiza Seguerra were recently engaged to their respective partners. – Rappler.com
