MANILA, Philippines – All’s well that ends well.

Actress-TV host Kris Aquino and former husband, basketball star James Yap, were reunited at their son Bimby’s 7^th birthday party on Tuesday, April 8. Bimby will turn 7 on April 19.

Kris posted some photos from the party on her Instagram account. One photo included her, James, Bimby, and Kris’ son Joshua, by actor Phillip Salvador.

“Ready for Bimb’s 7th Birthday Party, 11 days early but his friends will be complete and that’s what matters! MineCraft theme achieved!” wrote Kris.

“Happy Birthday Bimb! We love you!” was the caption on the photo above, followed by three heart emoticons. 

Kris also posted a collage photo of James together with Joshua next to their family photo taken during the party.

“This was the picture I showed on A&A. Thank you for the lessons and the memories. #movingforward,” wrote Kris.

On Tuesday’s (April 8) Aquino and Abunda Tonight episode, Kris aired a part of her interview with James during their son’s birthday party which will be shown on Friday’s episode of KrisTV.

In the interview, she thanked her ex-husband for being a father figure to Josh.

 “I want to say thank you to you dahil hindi ka rin naman sumuko. Ang ibang mga lalaki puwedeng-puwedeng sumuko na at sabihin ‘Bahala na kayo sa buhay ninyo dahil ayoko na ng gulo’ pero hindi ka rin bumitaw. Kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa iyo,” Kris told James.

(I want to say thank you because you didn’t give up. Other men could easily give up and say, ‘I don’t want any trouble, you look after yourselves,’ but you didn’t let go. So I’m saying thank you.)

She teared up during the episode and said that she has kept a few photos from the past, reminsicing that son Josh was still small when James came into her life.

 “…Please don’t misinterpret this. Siguro ang haba lang ng pinagdaanan,” she said as she started to cry. (We’ve been through a lot.)

Speaking in Filipino, she commended James for treating Josh well, even though they were not related by blood.

 “I’m sorry for all the heartaches,” she said.

James also apologized to his former wife.

“Sorry din, sorry din sa iyo na kung hindi man ako naging perfect na partner mo. Thank you din sa iyo na natanggap mo na rin ako na ngayon na okay na tayo so thank you,” he said.

(I’m sorry too, if I couldn’t be the perfect partner to you. Thank you for accepting me, and now that we’re okay – so thank you.)

Kris and James were married in 2005 but separated in 2010. In 2012, their annulment was granted, but controversy bloomed on March 2013, when Kris filed a temporary protection order against James after he allegedly made unwanted sexual advances on her. James denied the allegations.

Last February, the former couple decided to make peace after reaching custody and visitation agreements.

Clearly, things are on the mend between the two, as Kris’ legions of fans now anticipate how Kris’ new romance, this time with Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista, will unfold. – Rappler.com
