MANILA, Philippines – PBA player Terrence Romeo finally broke his silence on rumors linking him to TV host-comedian Vice Ganda.

In an interview with Spin.ph published on Friday, May 23, Romeo, a rookie player for GlobalPort, said that he and Vice Ganda (Jose Marie Viceral in real life) never had a relationship.

Romeo also clarified that a Facebook post about a denial of his relationship with the comedian does not belong to him. He told Spin.ph: “Hindi ko FB ‘yun. Pero okay na rin ‘yung ganun at least alam ng mga tao. Mas okay na ‘yung ganun na may nagsabi (sa Facebook para sa akin) ng ganun. Kasi totoo naman yung sinabi niya na wala kaming relasyon (ni Vice),” the 21-year-old Romeo said. (It’s not my FB account. But it’s okay with me because people at least know now. It’s better [that] someone on Facebook spoke up for me. Because it’s true that Vice and I never had a relationship.)

“Sana matapos na ‘yung isyu na ‘yan, dahil paulit ulit lang naman na hindi katotohanan! Isang multo yan ng imahe ko na gusto ko nang mabura totally,” he added. (I wish the issue would die down because it’s always the same intrigue. It’s a ghost that I wish to erase totally.)

In the interview, the PBA player also asked his fans to stop spreading rumors about him.

When asked if he has a message for the comedian, Romeo said he had none, adding that he does not want to talk about the issue already.

Romeo’s name was dragged into the issue after Vice tweeted two weeks ago that he broke up with his boyfriend of 5 years. Vice refused to name him. But the announcement was followed by a cryptic tweet: “i TRied but im TiRed. time To Rest,” emphasizing the letters T and R which fans believe are the initials of Terrence Romeo.
