MANILA, Philippines – Actress Bea Alonzo said that she nervous and excited to return to television via the teleserye Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, which will air Monday night, June 16.

In an interview with The Buzz on Sunday, June 15, Bea said that the title is brimming with meaning, but for her, it is all about regrets.

“Para sa akin kasi it’s a story about regrets. Bawat character dito meron regrets na sinasabi na sana naging ganito, things would have turned out differently,” Bea said.

(For me, it’s a story about regrets. Each character here has regrets that said I wish I was this, things would have turned out differently.)

The soap also stars Susan Roces, Eddie Garcia, Albert Martinez, Dina Bonnevie, and Paulo Avelino.

The actress also said that she is overwhelmed and humbled when people gave her the title of the next generation’s “Queen of All Movies.”

“I still don’t know how to react. Ang hirap kasi kung iisipin mo. (It’s difficult when you think about it.)  To be totally honest, I feel overwhelmed. I am humbled kasi parang binibigyan ka ng ganitong titulo pero syempre iniisip mo paano ba sa society, paano ba dapat ako mag-react? Baka mag-mukha ka mayabang, baka magmukha akong feeling pero syempre ako to be honest, Siguro kahit sino namang mabigyan ng title na ‘yun, tataba ‘yung puso,” Bea said.

(To be given a title, you’ll think how will society, how will you react? I might look arrogant, I might sound feeling but to be honest, whoever gets that title, it’s very flattering.)

Bea said that she also feels blessed because of the projects given to her by ABS-CBN.

The actress said that when it comes to roles, for as long as the story requires it, she will do it.

“Para sa akin, kapag na-in love ako sa story, na in-love ako sa character, regardless kung ano ang itsura, kahit makipag-kissing scene ako, kung hinihingi siya ng story at ng characters, why not?”

(For me, if I fall in love with the story, the character, regardless how it looks, even if I have to do kissing scene, if its required in the story and from the characters, why not?)

However, she said that there is a limitation when she does roles.

“Kung gagawa ako ng character kailangan may resolusyon kasi may responsibilidad ako sa mga followers ko, sa mga bata. Kung hinihingi talaga at may moral value after why not?”

(If I do a character, it has to have a resolution because I have a responsibility to my followers, to the kids. If the role requires it and there’s a moral value after, why not?)

Asked about the possibility of marrying long-time boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo, Bea said that they’ve talked about it but agreed it’s not the proper time yet.

“Marami pa kaming gustong gawin sa buhay namin pero kung tatanungin mo ako kung sinong gusto ko mapangasawa ko, si Zanjoe eventually, but not now,” she said.

(We still want to do a lot of things in our lives but if you asked me who I want to end up with as my spouse, it would be Zanjoe eventually, but not now.)  –Rappler.com
