Mary Christine Jolly files concubinage complaint against Derek, Angelica

MANILA, Philippines – Mary Christine Jolly, the estranged wife of Derek Ramsay, has filed a concubinage complaint against the actor and his ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.

According to a report from ABS-CBN, Mary Christine went to the Parañaque Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, October 8, to file the complaint.

In her complaint, she said that a Star Studio interview led to her decision to file. According to the interview, Derek and Angelica decided to live together during the second year of their relationship. Derek and Christine were married in 2002. 

Via, concubinage, under Article 334 of the Revised Penal Code or RPC, is defined as “committed by any husband who shall keep a mistress in the conjugal dwelling, or, shall have sexual intercourse, under scandalous circumstances, with a woman who is not his wife, or shall cohabit with her in any other place.”

Derek and Angelica were together for 6 years before breaking up. Angelica is now in a relationship with actor John Lloyd Cruz.

Mary Christine said that Angelica’s interview in the magazine was enough evidence for her to file the complaint. However, she clarified she has nothing against the actress.

Angelica’s lawyer told ABS-CBN in a statement that the actress “has no comment at this time” as she has not yet received a statement. 

In August, Derek confirmed the news that he and Mary Christine were married in 2002 and that they had a son. 

Mary Christine filed a complaint against him, saying that Derek violated the Violence Against Women and their Children Act. She said that Derek has not been supporting their 11-year-old son. (READ: Mary Christine Jolly speaks up on case against Derek Ramsay)
