(I just want reach out…I spoke to her and the mom. [It happened] just the other day [Tuesday.] )

Ayaw ko nang pag-usapan ‘yung sa amin ni Angel.  (I don’t want to talk about what should be between me and Angel) I just want to reach out to her and her family. That’s the right thing to do… Her name is being dragged and it’s just right for me to apologize. I can’t stop somebody from filing any case, they can go ahead and do that. Hindi ko siya mapipigilan (I cannot stop her),” he said.

According to the same report, Derek said that Angelica has accepted his apology.

Early Thursday, October 9, Derek posted the following on his Twitter account, saying sorry to the actress, her family and her fans.

On Wednesday, October 8, Mary Christine filed the complaint against Derek and Angelica, citing a Star Studio interview of the actress, where in she narrated the details of her relationship with Derek. In the said article, it was mentioned that she and Derek decided to live together during the second year of their relationship.

Mary Christine said that the interview was enough for her to file the complaint against the two. She however said she has nothing against the actress.

In August, Derek confirmed the news that he and Mary Christine were married in 2002 and that they had a son.
