Amanda Bynes says ‘microchip’ in brain made her say dad abused her
Amanda releases a string of disturbing tweets accusing her father of physical and verbal abuse, then later takes it back

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Former child star Amanda Bynes, 28, has released a string of disturbing accusations on Twitter about her father, accusing him of verbally and physically abusing her, but has since taken it back by saying that a “microchip” in her head made her tweet those accusations.

UPDATE: People reports that Amanda has checked into a treatment center in California. TMZ posted footage of Amanda’s arrival in Los Angeles, and reports that doctors have put her under “5150 psychiatric hold, where she will be held for 72 hours.”

In a series of Tweets posted October 10 (October 11 in Manila), she said that she needed to “tell the truth” about her dad. Here are all her tweets:

Amanda’s family members have denied these allegations. Some of the tweets, including the ones saying that she was meeting with a lawyer to get a restraining order against her dad, that her father “fondled himself” in front of her, and that he “called her ugly as a child,” were later deleted.

Tamar Arminak, the lawyer of Amanda’s mother Lynn Bynes, issued a statement to E! News on Lynn’s behalf, saying: “I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for.

He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth!  These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”

Amanda, a former Nickeledeon child star who recently made headlines for alleged shoplifting and a DUI arrest, went through hard times in 2013, when she started a fire in the driveway of a California home. Her parents were granted a temporary conservatorship over Amanda, which ended this year. According to People, Amanda was arrested twice in 3 months for DUI in 2012.

In a video report published in x17 on September 29, her father Rick Bynes said that they he and his wife “didn’t know a thing” about Amanda’s most recent arrest, saying that he heard about it from press reports.

“She’s 28, she does what she wants,” he said.

The Twitter rant about her dad is the latest in a string of Tweets from Amanda, who also recently said that she was engaged, wanted “a tremendous amount” of facial surgery, and that she wanted to transfer from FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) to Columbia University or New York University to study psychology. She also insisted to her followers that she was “not insane” and not to “believe anything the tabloids are saying” about her. – Rappler.com
