Vice Ganda talks about Cherie Gil’s apology

MANILA, Philippines – All is well between comedian Vice Ganda and Cherie Gil.

In an interview with The Buzz, Sunday, October 26, Vice said that Gil’s apology during their performance last Friday on It’s Showtime came as a surprise. “Wala akong ini-expect na may apology na magaganap. Wala dahil ang expect ko lang  is the comment will be about the performance itself. At alam ko lang na may issue kami.” (I did not expect that an apology will be made. All that I was expecting was a comment about the performance itself. And I know that we have an issue.)

“She didn’t have to apologize naman because hindi naman ako  na-offend sa sinabi niya. Syempre lahat naman ng mga tao may kanya-kanyang perceptions and judgements  sa bawat isa. Nabasa ko  pa nga na what other people  say about you or how people treat you is not your karma. How you react to them is your karma.” (I was not offended by what she said. Of course everyone will have their perceptions and judgments on each other.) 

The actress, who was a guest judge in It’s Showtime’s “Magpasikat Ka” segment last week, became emotional when she apologized and praised the comedian for his performance. 

“When I was asked to judge here in It’s Showtime, of course aside from the fun and knowing the experience, sabi ko ang motivation ko dito ay makilala si Vice Ganda,” Gil said. 

Vice sang a song he composed for his performance with Ryan Bang. Gil later said: “Nobody, not even I, ay may karapatang husgahan ang kahit na sino.” (Nobody has the right to judge anyone.)

Last year, Gil tweeted a message against the comedian after the latter made a rape joke on GMA 7 journalist Jessica Soho.
