Could Coldplay’s next album be their last?
Chris Martin talks to the BBC Radio 1 about their new album, which he likens to 'the last 'Harry Potter' book'

MANILA, Philippines – A seventh album from music giant Coldplay is in the works – but could this be the last we’ll see from the band?

The album is called A Head Full of Dreams, said Chris in an interview on BBC Radio 1. “It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that,” Chris said.

“Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something, and it was great to go from Ghost Stories to go right back in the studio. Now we’re making things that sound different and it’s just a very fun time to be in our band.”

“I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it,” he said.

This doesn’t appear to be a definite confirmation that we won’t see anything new from the band after the next album, but we’ll have to see as more news rolls in about their new record.

Chris also said that the group will go on tour after the new album’s release, noting that they did not go on tour after Ghost Stories because the record was so personal and intimate that “it didn’t feel right to play it in stadiums.”
