MANILA, Philippines  – Bride-to-be Heart Evangelista said that she’s learning a lot from her fiance, Senator Chiz Escudero – particularly when it comes to being practical about her wedding planning and her finances.

“You have to always think about the day after the wedding when reality kicks in. You need to buy your house, you have to plan for a family so I guess importante na maganda yung communication ninyo para organized ang lahat (communication is very important so everything is organized),” she said during the launch of the Closeup Diamond Attraction in Makati, Tuesday evening, January 27. Heart is the endorser.

Chiz was also in attendance at the event, hosted by Teresa Herrera.

“I was raised in a way na everything was just given to me. With Chiz, he teaches me to appreciate the value of every single thing especially what you really have and he would always tell me, ‘You know this is only one day. Ang importante sa kasal is yung buhay ninyo after. (What is important is life after the wedding.)”

Heart shared that in the beginning, she would get stressed about the wedding planning, since Chiz would always have something to say. However, both of them were able to work things out.

Aside from the dresses and flowers, Heart said she was hands-on in picking the music for their big day.

She also said that she is very happy with her new projects.

“Before, there was this mentality na when you get married, tapos na career mo (your career is done), and yet next week I’ll be doing something too.

It inspires me to do what I have been doing and at times when you question yourself, did I do it right, or if there was anything I could have done better, and these blessings come in and God gives you a tap on the shoulder and say, ‘My dear princess you didn’t do anything wrong, here’s a gift for you.’ That’s how I feel today,” Heart shared

Heart said that with everything she went through, she has learned to live life as it is.

“Sometimes the more blessed you are, the more battles you have. But it’s just really going on with life, understanding why its there. If you don’t understand it, then there is going to be a reason for it and just be grateful for what you have, contented and be happy,” she said.

Last August, Chiz proposed to Heart in Sorsogon. The proposal was witnessed by his family and Heart’s closest friends. The couple will wed in Balesin Island, Quezon on February 15, one day after the actress’ birthday. A teaser of their pre-wedding video was released last week.– Rappler.com
