MANILA, Philippines – Friends and family of TV host Toni Gonzaga and Director Paul Soriano congratulated the couple after the announcement of their engagement.

Ate and brolo minutes after their proposal @celestinegonzaga @paulsoriano1017,” Alex wrote.
After The Buzz, Kris Aquino thanked the couple for trusting the show to air their story.

On the live episode of The Voice of the Philippines, Toni’s co-host Luis Manzano congratulated her.
“We would like to congratulate newly engaged Ms. Toni Gonzaga and Direk Paul Soriano who’s with us tonight,” he said.
In an episode of The Buzz, Sunday, February 1, Toni promised to take care of Paul, who stood by her for the past 7 years. (READ: Toni’s emotional message for Paul: You will be number one)
“Sabi ko, I always prayed to God, sabi ko, ‘Lord, kung darating ‘yung time na mapagod na si Paul, kasi hindi na niya kayang maghintay, sabi ko, Kayo na ang bahala pero he really stayed, and he proved to me that true love waits,” Toni said.
(I always prayed to God, I said, ‘Lord, if the time comes that Paul gets tired, tired of waiting, I said, it’s in Your hands. But he really stayed. He proved to me that true love waits.)
“And he really waited for me, kaya sabi ko, ‘If I become his wife, hindi na siya number 3 priority, I will make sure that he will be my only priority, and everything else is secondary na lang.
“So I’d like to thank him for enduring everything, for the patience, for understanding, and thank you very much for honoring my parents.”
