Annabelle Rama not talking to daughter Ruffa Gutierrez

MANILA, Philippines – Looks like things aren’t too rosy between Annabelle Rama and daughter Ruffa Gutierrez. 

In an interview with Pep during the press conference for their show It Takes Gutz To Be A Gutierrez Tuesday, May 26, Annabelle said she has not forgiven her daughter regarding Ruffa’s new boyfriend Jordan Mouyal. 

“Hindi ko pa siya pinapatawad,” Annabelle said. (I have not forgiven her)

“Sinasabi ko lang ‘to kasi maraming nagtatanong sa akin kung drama ba itong nangyayari. (I just said this because many are asking if there’s drama that’s happening.)

“Sa aming show, walang halong drama,”  (In our show, it’s not a drama.) 

“Kaya hindi ako tumuloy sa pag-aartista ko kasi ayoko ng script talaga,” she added. (That’s why I did not push through being an actress because I really don’t like reading scripts.)

Annabelle admitted she could not help but be emotional when her daughter tried to apologize to her, but said she believes she’s doing this for Ruffa’s own good. 

“Kasi marami nagsasabi, ‘Ang arte-arte, hindi pa binabati [yung] anak niya, binabati na siya.’

“Ako kasi, kapag hindi pa time, hindi ko pinipilit.

“Ayoko siyang batiin na wala pa sa time na batiin ko siya.” 

(Many are saying I am overreacting, not greeting her daughter, when she has greeted her. For me, if it’s not the time, I will not push it. I don’t want to greet her when it’s not yet the right time.)

Annabelle also mentioned that she tried to avoid any social gatherings Ruffa is invited to.

Meanwhile in another interview with Pep, Ruffa said she respects her mom despite the arguments, and the time will come when they’ll be okay.

“Well, totoo naman (true), timing is everything.

“And importante, kahit na nagkakaroon kami ng diperensiya, kahit na nagkakaroon kami ng hindi pagkakaunawaan, at the end of the day, we both love each other and maaayos din ‘yan.” Ruffa said.

(And what’s important, even if we have problems, even if we fight, at the end of the day, we both love each other and it will get better in time.)

On April 17, Annabelle posted a series of tweets where she wrote that one may have studied in good schools, but is not bright when it comes to the matters of the heart. This is not the first time Annabelle and Ruffa fought over Ruffa’s new relationship. Last year, the two fought on Twitter after Ruffa said she was embarrassed at Annabelle’s party. – Rappler.com
