Megan Young is the new ‘Marimar’

MANILA, Philippines – Miss World 2013 Megan Young will return to acting via the remake of the hit Mexican telenovela Marimar.

According to the announcement on the GMA Network website, the new Marimar will have a different take from the hit telenovela done by Thalia.

Tom Rodriguez meanwhile will take on the role of Sergio Santibañez, Marimar’s love interest. 

In 2007, GMA aired the Filipino adaptation of Marimar starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, who have since become real life couple and are now happily married and expecting their first child.

Aired in the early ‘90s, the wildly successful Marimar starred Mexican actress-singer Thalia and Eduardo Capetillo. –Rappler.com
