‘I am Cait’: Caitlyn Jenner docu-series to roll out in July

WASHINGTON DC, USA – Caitlyn Jenner will follow up on her public coming-out as a transgender woman with a docu-series on E! channel next month about her transformation from life as Olympic decathlon champion Bruce.

I am Cait will play out in 8 hour-long episodes beginning July 26, the cable television entertainment channel said Wednesday, June 3

It said the show “will illustrate the star living her life as a transgender woman and telling her intimate story as she seeks out her ‘new normal.'”

It will also explore the impact of her decision on her family and others in her life.

Jenner, a 1976 Olympic gold medalist, gained renewed fame in recent years with the reality TV series Keeping up with the Kardashians, as the paterfamilias through a now-ended marriage to Kris Kardashian.

The release of Jenner’s photo on the cover of Vanity Fair‘s July issue by celebrity photographer Annie Leibowitz set off a media sensation when it was released this week, making the 65-year-old an instant cultural icon. (READ: Caitlyn Jenner’s new identity highlights transgender issues)

She piled up more than a million Twitter followers in just over four hours, breaking US President Barack Obama’s record. Jenner now has more than 2.3 million followers.

Also Wednesday, the Los Angeles-based Creative Artists Agency (CAA) talent group announced it had signed with Jenner “to create a platform for her activism in bringing awareness to the transgender community.”
