MANILA, Philippines – Actor Drake Bell apologized on Twitter for his tweet about Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner.
The release of Caitlyn’s photo on the cover of Vanity Fair‘s July issue by photographer Annie Leibowitz set off a media sensation when it was released, making the 65-year-old an instant cultural icon. Fans, family, and colleagues rallied around Caitlyn to show support.
“Sorry….still calling you Bruce,” Drake said in the now-deleted Tweet posted after the cover reveal.
Here’s his apology:
I sincerely apologize for my thoughtless insensitive remarks. I in no way meant to hurt or demean those going through a similar journey.
