MANILA, Philippines – Actress Alex Gonzaga became emotional as she gave her speech to sister Toni and Paul Soriano during their wedding reception last Friday, June 12.
As seen in the TV special Perfect Together: Paul and Toni Wedding Special which aired Saturday, June 13, Alex said that she was happy to finally call Paul “kuya (brother)” after 8 years. She told Paul to take care of her sister now that they are together.
“Ngayon ikaw na ang makakasama niya every night. Gusto niya laging kumakain ng midnight snack so samahan mo siya. Gusto niya lagi magluto ng itlog. Kakatok siya at kahit tulog ka na, samahan mo pa rin. Tapos pag may na-shopping siya ipapakita niya sa iyo, be happy, kunwari na lang excited ka,” Alex said.
(Now you are the one she will be with every night. She likes to eat midnight snacks, so accompany her. She likes eggs. She will knock and even if you are asleep, please be with her. If she shows you what she bought after going shopping, be happy, pretend that you are excited for her.)
“Never be against her, always be on her team,” she added.
Also in the special, Alex also said it was a bit hard letting her sister go.
“Sana hindi ako mapalitan sa buhay mo as partner mo. Twenty-seven years ko dito sa mundo ikaw ‘yung lagi kong kasama, ito ‘yung ka-partner ko, tapos ngayon kinailangan na kitang i-let go para kay direk Paul.”
(I wish I won’t be replaced in your life as your partner. Twenty-seven years of my life, I’ve always been your companion, you were my partner, but now I have to let you go for Paul.)
Toni and Paul married in Taytay last Friday after 8 years of relationship. The couple confirmed their engagement last February after Paul proposed to Toni during her birthday in January. – Rappler.com
