Airport employees say that Jiro was spotted dressed in old clothes, and had to depend on help from strangers

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Jiro Manio, best known for his breakout role in 2003’s Magnifico, has been found roaming about at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 3, dressed in old clothes and depending on charity from others.

According to a report from the Inquirer, Manio was spotted in the NAIA terminal vicinity for the past 4 days.

According to the report, Frank Sorca, a security guard at the terminal said that Manio told him he couldn’t stay home because of enemies there. There were also bruises and cuts on his body, but his answers to questions reportedly kept changing.

“He looked as if he hasn’t had a decent meal and his clothes were dirty,” Sorca said.

Following the reports about Manio, people in showbiz have also express their concern for the former child star. Stylist Alyanna Martinez, daughter of actor Albert Martinez, posted her thoughts on her Facebook.

“Papa Albert Martinez FP wasnt Jiro your son in Magnifico? I
think he needs some help getting back on his feet again. He is such a good actor what awaste of his life and talent to just end up homeless,” she wrote.

Social media star Kimpoy Feliciano posted this on Twitter.

Manio, now 23, rose to fame as a child star in Magnifico, the award-winning film directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes. After Magnifico, Manio starred in a number of movies and shows which include Ang Tanging Ina, Spirits, and Pilyang Kerubin.

In 2011, Manio, who has two children, entered rehab for drug use. In a 2012 interview with ABS-CBN, he spoke about being motivated to battle his demons in order to best care for his children.
