Lea Salonga, Aga Muhlach together again for ‘Sana Maulit Muli’
During their appearance at the premiere of the digitally restored and remastered 'Sana Maulit Muli', the two stars say they are open to doing a 3rd movie together

MANILA, Philippines – Twenty years after making one of the films that made them popular on screen, Broadway star Lea Salonga and actor Aga Muhlach appeared together at the premiere of the digitally restored and remastered Sana Maulit Muli at the Cine Adarna, University of the Philippines Film Institute.

In an interview with reporters at the red carpet Friday, July 10, Aga and Lea expressed their excitement about seeing the film.

“It feels really nice that ABS-CBN has been making an effort to restore classic films for young generations to see. I think it’s really, really wonderful,” Lea said.

It’s just nice to be here tonight, especially like my last film was like 5 years ago. Parang nakagawa ako ng pelikula na walang effort (It’s like I made a film with no effort)…it’s exciting, good memories,” Aga said.

Asked what their favorite scenes are, Lea said in jest: “ [I think] everytime Olive (Lamasan) made me scream on to his face. I think those were nice, those were fun.”

Madami! Kasi yung pelikula masakit. Olive knows that. Lahat nung mga eksena na ginagawa namin, ramdam na ramdam ko noon doon,” Aga said.

(So many. Because that movie was painful to do. Olive knows that. All the scenes we did, I really felt them.)

Sana Maulit Muli is the second movie that Lea and Aga did together. They first starred in Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal shown in 1992.

As for a possibility of a third movie, the two are open to it. (READ: Lea Salonga says movie with Aga Muhlach will have to wait)

Sana soon. I’m really hoping soon,” Aga said.

Lea is currently busy doing The Voice Kids season 2 and rehearsing for an upcoming Broadway play, Allegiance. Aga, on the other hand, took time off from showbiz since leaving TV 5 last year.

Directed by Olive Lamasan, Sana Maulit Muli tells the story of Agnes (Lea) who leaves for America to join her mother after her petition was approved. She leaves behind Jerry (Aga), her long-time boyfriend and tries to make the relationship work despite the distance.

Filled with guilt, Jerry follows Agnes to America, but upon his arrival, discovers that Agnes has changed from the woman he knew. Will they be able to bring back the love they used to have?

Sana Maulit Muli is one of the many movies restored by ABS-CBN Film archives together with Central Digital Labs. Among the films that have been restored are Maalaala Mo Kaya the Movie, Nagsimula sa Puso, and Bata Bata Paano Ka Ginawa. – Rappler.com
