WATCH: ‘Voice Kids PH’ coaches turn for young contestant singing ‘On My Own’

MANILA, Philippines – The Voice Kids 2 Coach Lea Salonga personally coached contestant Jhyleanne Rington on the show’s stage in the episode that aired Saturday, July 18. Jhyleanne, 11 sang “On My Own,” which Lea sang as the character Eponine in the Broadway play Les Miserables. 
 
All three coaches turned for Jhyleanne that night, prompting them to fight over her. Coaches Bamboo and Sarah admitted though, that singing that song in front of Lea was brave. 
 
There seemed to be no competition with regard to which coach Jhyleanne would pick since she said that she idolizes coach Lea. But Lea decided to take matters into her own hands by going on stage and telling Jhyleanne about the feelings running through the character’s mind as the song progressed. Lea even sang bits and pieces of the song as a sample. 

“That’s how i coach, I’m very honest,” said Lea to Jhyleanne afterwards. “If you cannot handle that, don’t pick me.”
