The debate was held at the Phinma University of Pangasinan in Dagupan City and all 5 presidential candidates were in attendance: Jejomar Binay, Miriam Defensor Santiago, Rodrigo Duterte, Grace Poe, and Manuel Roxas II.

As influential public figures, entertainment personalities weighed in on the goings-on at the debate, and expressed their thoughts on social media.

Prior to the debate, Saab Magalona encouraged her followers to watch the debate, and expressed her hope that the candidates would talk more about their platforms rather than make statements that have nothing to do with being president.
