MANILA, Philippines – For Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes, it must be a pleasant surprise to find himself representing Quezon City in Traveler’s Digest – which recently ranked the city 7th in their survey of “10 Cities with the World’s Best Looking Men (2013 Edition).”

The online magazine touched on Dingdong and Quezon City as it waxed praise on the “Asian archipelago” and its “pristine beaches and sparkling waters,” among other facets.

“Picture-perfect islands numbering in the thousands draw in hoards of holidaymakers to the Philippines each year for fun in the sun,” went the capsule entry on the Philippines.

“And with weather this hot it should come as little surprise that the men of the Philippines have some head-turning beach bodies to match.

“Their reputed romantic side and gloriously tanned skin [don’t] hurt either. Just check out much-loved Filipino actor Dingdong Dantes.

“But though Quezon City is a few miles from the coast [it’s near Manila], it is the hometown of Dingdong Dantes and the hub for much of the Philippines’ entertainment industry, which gives credence to its nickname ‘City of the Stars.'”

Each city, with the exception of Havana (number one on the list) and Miami, was represented by a celebrity. Among those in the list are Irish actor Colin Farrell for Dublin, South Korean actor Kwon Sang-woo for Seoul, and American actor Brad Pitt for Cannes, where he is a “hot visitor,” said Traveler’s Digest.

Dingdong’s inclusion in this list is the latest in a roll of citations, such as his being named by E! as one of the 25 Sexiest Men In The World in 2008. The 33-year-old star is also a multiawarded actor.

Dingdong will soon return to teleserye action in the upcoming “Genesis,” which will replace the soon-to-conclude “My Husband’s Lover.” He also has a new movie under Star Cinema, “She’s the One,” which opens in cinemas October 16. –
