Actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga shared on her official Instagram account on Sunday, October 17, that she had had a miscarriage three weeks earlier.

“[Two] months ago we found out that I was pregnant and [three] weeks ago, we got a heartbreaking news that we might be having an anembryonic pregnancy (blighted ovum),” Alex wrote in her post, which features photos of a positive pregnancy test, and of her being confined in a hospital, accompanied by husband Mikee Morada.

“Everyday we were clinging on to a miracle that an embryo would still appear but last Tuesday (Oct12), the Lord’s will prevailed and we finally closed the book of our first pregnancy,” she disclosed.

Alex then went on to console couples who also gone through miscarriages, and reminded them not to put the blame on themselves.

“To any couple who’s going through this or who might go through this pain, don’t ever lose hope. It’s not your fault this happened,” she wrote.

Among the celebrities who sent words of comfort in the comments section were her sister, actress Toni Gonzaga, model Isabelle Daza, and actress Janella Salvador.

Vlog of pregnancy journey

On Sunday, October 24, Alex shared a vlog detailing her pregnancy journey, from finding out she was pregnant, to learning about her pregnancy complications, to having check-ups with her doctor, and finally, to confirming the miscarriage.
