Andrea Torres has been cast in the upcoming Argentinian film Pasional, where she will play a Filipino tango dancer.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, October 26, GMA Artist Center announced the news, saying that the actress is currently in Argentina to film the international project.
“Hindi ako makapaniwala! Napakalaking blessing na napakaganda ng taon na ito for me in terms of career. (I can’t believe it. It’s a huge blessing that this year has been so good for me, in terms of my career). I’m just really very, very happy,” Andrea was quoted as saying.
The 31-year-old actress also gave fans a glimpse of her stay in Argentina through a series of photos on her Instagram page. She shared photos from her welcome dinner with actor Nicolás Cacciavillan and director Luciano Croatto, as well as snaps from their first day of filming.
In an interview with GMA News Online, Andrea revealed that the film will follow the love story of her character and an Argentinian national. “Natuwa ako sa idea kung paano sila nag-meet, kasi parang destiny na magkita sila (I liked the idea of how they met because it seems like it was destiny),” she said.
Andrea added that aside from practicing speaking in Spanish, she also had to take a three-day tango class to prepare for her role.
Fellow celebrities like Kakai Bautista, Kylie Padilla, Chynna Ortaleza, and Gabby Eigenmann have congratulated Andrea on the project.
