Angeli Pangilinan, wife of singer-actor Gary Valenciano, announced on Saturday, March 20 that she tested positive for COVID-19.
Angeli said on Instagram that she is currently isolating.
“I should be afraid right? But I am married to a man who has had Type 1 diabetes for 42 years. Who has had multiple seizures due to hypoglycemia. Hepatitis. Otrhroscopic surgery on his knees. Tuberculosis. Cardiac double bypass / open heart surgery. Kidney cancer. Partial nephrectomy surgery. Whew. So having gone through all that with him, I know that this is just another trial that we will overcome together,” she wrote.
She then requested her followers to help pray that her husband wouldn’t get the coronavirus: “I don’t mind getting it for as long as he is spared from this disease. BY HIS STRIPES I AM HEALED.”
She then concluded her post with a reminder to follow health protocols by staying at home, wearing masks and face shields, washing hands regularly, and practicing social distancing.
“I had very minor symptoms but needed to quarantine nonetheless, so here I am in isolation. I fell asleep the other day early and suddenly woke up. I was hoping Gary was awake so I asked if we could FaceTime! Anyway he called me as he wanted me to listen to his new song “Make Us Whole Again,'” she said.
As of March 21, the Philippines has 663, 794 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with the Department of Health (DOH) announcing 7,557 new cases that day.
