Armie Hammer has apologized for referring to a woman in lingerie and on all fours as “Miss Cayman” in a leaked video from his private Instagram account.
In the caption to the video, copies of which had been leaked to the media, the Call Me By Your Name star wrote: “Well… my ex (for a very good reason) wife is refusing to come back to america with my children. So I have to go back to Cayman… which sucks. Except there are a few silver linings. Like f*cking Ms. Cayman again while I’m down there.”
The video was denounced by the Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee, which said they were “very disturbed” by the video and confirmed that the woman is not the current Miss Cayman Islands titleholder.
In an audio statement to the Cayman Compass on January 17, Armie clarified that the woman in the video was not Miss Cayman, the titleholder. He also confirmed the authenticity of the video, which he said was “stolen from [his] private Instagram.”
“I’m genuinely sorry for any confusion my foolish attempt at humor may have caused,” he said.
“My deepest sympathies to Miss Cayman who I don’t know, and the entire organization as I had no intention of implying she was actually Miss Cayman.”
The video was leaked from Armie’s secret account on Instagram, where he also talks about taking the hallucinogenic drug DMT, and brags about how it doesn’t show up on drug tests.
A screenshot shared by the actor on the account shows what looks to be a court order requiring him to pass a drug test before seeing his children with Elizabeth Chambers. Armie and Elizabeth announced their divorce in July 2020.
The actor recently faced controversy after a series of alleged messages were leaked to the public. In those messages, the actor supposedly detailed cannibalistic sexual fantasies such as drinking blood, eating hearts, and cutting off toes.
Armie has not responded to the allegations directly but announced that he was stepping down from his role in the upcoming film Shotgun Wedding.
He said in a statement: “I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.” – Rappler.com
